Open Frame Touch Screens & Monitor Overlays

Open-frame touch solutions for machine builders: bezel-less IR overlays and panels designed to drop into kiosk, ATM and equipment housings.

Open frame touch screen overlay for kiosk housings

OEM INTEGRATION · BEZEL-LESS MOUNTING · KIOSK / ATM / MACHINE

Touch designed to disappear into your housing

An open frame touch screen is touch hardware sold without a consumer enclosure, intended to be built into someone else's: a kiosk carcass, an ATM surround, a machine front, a photo booth. In the YCL Touch catalogue the open-frame route is served two ways — complete infrared overlay kits designated open frame (the LV-43 kit is the reference product, and a 55-inch variant is listed as a high-precision interactive open frame), and panel-format overlay kits in metal cases specified for ATM, POS and open-frame machine applications. Both routes share the integration logic: the frame or panel provides the sensing, your housing provides the protection and the industrial design, and a USB lead is the only interface between the two.

Integration checkpoints

Four things decide whether an open-frame integration is a one-day job or a redesign. Window clearance: the infrared field needs an unobstructed line across the active area — housing lips that overhang the corners will eat touch accuracy exactly where users tap "confirm". Ventilation: the PCBA is low-power but enclosed housings still need an air path, shared with the display's own thermal plan. Service access: design the housing so the frame and its USB lead can be swapped without removing the display; field failures in this class are connectors and cables far more often than sensors. Sealing: an overlay frame is not itself an IP-sealed component; the seal belongs to your front design, and splash-facing installs should be declared at inquiry so profile and mounting are specified accordingly. The kiosk integration guide works through each checkpoint with tolerances.

Open frame vs finished monitor

If your programme already owns displays or housings, open-frame touch is the economical path and the one this catalogue is built around. If you are starting from an empty wall, compare honestly with the interactive flat panel family — one delivered product, one warranty, no integration labour. The crossover is usually volume: integration labour is a fixed engineering cost that amortises across a fleet, which is why open-frame dominates kiosk programmes above pilot quantity.

A note on evidence

Every figure on this page traces to the manufacturer's own catalogue listings for this model class — dimensions, touch points, interface and stated standards are quoted from those listings, and anything the listings leave open (certification documents for a specific build, confirmed lead time for a specific quantity) is confirmed at quotation rather than filled in here. That discipline is deliberate: a specification page that invents nothing is the only kind worth engineering against, and it is why the inquiry asks for your display model — so the reply can be written against your unit, with the drawing, instead of against a generic diagonal.

Can the frame profile be supplied unjoined for our own extrusion lengths?

That is a components order — see components — and is quoted against your profile geometry.

What accuracy do the corners hold?

Accuracy follows calibration and housing flatness; declare corner-critical applications (signature pads, dense UIs) in the inquiry so the model and calibration procedure are specified for them.
